What the role looks like / key tasks:
This role has been established to become a subject matter expert in respect of network protection, control, and the increasing array of smart devices connected to the network, within customers’ premises, and to Electra’s business systems.
You will play an integral part in our team responsible for determining investment planning and engineering for the safe and efficient distribution of electricity in Kapiti & Horowhenua you will be responsible for the engineering of network configuration and the components connected in and connected to Electra’s electricity network.
As part of the wider Lines Business team, this role contributes to the use of this data and the design of business systems and roles that interact with deployed systems and devices.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will ideally hold a Degree in Power Systems, Diploma in data analytics or business, or some tertiary qualification in the electrical engineering discipline.
With at least 3 years' experience post qualification in a power system protection role and knowledge in configuring and testing relays, you are analytical, a great communicator, and passionate about pursuing a career in this field. You will interact with various internal and external teams and won’t shy away from having a great business case you want to put forward, even if that means your audience includes the powers that be right at the top.
With a thorough understanding of electrical networks and their components, and experience in the operational implementation of complex technology solutions you are adept at providing robust business cases, business process re-engineering, and process design and taking the lead on some of these projects.
