What the role looks like / key tasks:

Reporting to the Network Planning and Development Manager, you, as our Network Planning Team Leader, in a newly created role, will use your strategic planning skills to lead and carry out power systems studies, transformation projects, economic modelling and evaluation whilst leading a team of planning engineers.

You will be confident in ensuring that Electra’s design and connection standards are in line with industry best practice. As we embark on the decarbonisation of the electricity market your ability to be forward thinking and consider the wider context of changes to come underpinned by future predictive modelling is paramount to the success of this role.

Your ability to collaborate closely with stakeholders and industry partners alike will ensure that decisions that need to be made have the required support and advocacy. Your communication and relationship management skills are second to none.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

To be successful in this role you will need a minimum of 7 years’ experience in power system engineering. We are looking for someone who can actively motivate and lead a team. Your measure of a good leader will be in your ability to take your team along the journey of change and manage change as you need to.

Your experience of power system modelling together with sound analytical skills and a knowledge of the relevant act and legislations will see you thrive. You will take a positive approach to your work and lead by example. You need financial literacy skills to manage a healthy budget.

To go alongside your practical work experience, you’ll have either a degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and CPEng registration or have a commitment to obtain.
