SECURELY® is a trust-owned organisation, based in Levin, regional New Zealand, something we are proud of, and it’s a big part of our culture and the way we do business.

About the role

This is a newly created position within our SECURELY® business and will focus on building out our technical and field services team to support our industry leading solutions using IoT sensors to deliver smart homes and advanced medical alarms.  The role’s purpose is simple, to support and grow our technical people and manage a resilient ICT platform to enable our growth strategy.  We operate with a mix of customer facing field teams and 3rd party partners to deliver the best service possible to our clients.  This role covers both the human and machine elements of our business.

You will have a team of 7 highly engaged and competent direct reports and a number of 3rd party partners and provide both sound technical advice and people leadership and coaching, along with owning the service levels around our ICT stack, which is mostly cloud-based supported by partners. As this role has remote staff, some travel will be required.  You will also:

  • Act as an escalation for customer and technical enquiries
  • Ensure the technical team meet our customer service standards and KPIs
  • Work with our Group IT team to ensure help desk, system maintenance and upgrades are managed for SECURELY®’s platforms
  • Understand revenue, cost management and reporting requirements to support our P&L.

About You

We operate in a fast paced and dynamic environment, so this role would suit someone who has a strong work ethic, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to work with the broader team to get things done.  Additionally, it is important that you have:

  • Experience managing a team of field-based technicians, ideally alarm specialists!
  • You’ve likely started on the tools as an alarm service tech or similar yourself, and you’re now looking to spend less time on the tools and more time mentoring and coaching a team!
  • Experience troubleshooting, assessing and/or repairing electronic devices
  • Experience providing technical support to a non-technical customer base
  • Advanced problem solving capabilities
  • A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • A level of comfort speaking and working with an ICT environment that needs to be highly availability
  • A strong computer proficiency across the MS Suite of products.

What would really set you apart is your knowledge in a similar role within the security/medical alarm industry with an understanding of home automation and aged care technology.  That said, we’d love to speak to you if you’re from the HVAC, Building services or similar categories, with a passion for people and a hunger to learn our industry.

What you’ll get

A generous salary commensurate to your experience, health insurance, a great team to work with, a company vehicle as well as the chance to lead and help shape the growth for our future!

SECURELY® is on a journey to change the way we deliver care into the home as well as using technology to allow all New Zealanders to feel confident and independent,  If this sounds like you, don’t delay, apply now!
