About the opportunity
Not often do we recruit within our finance team, however, due to an internal promotion, we’re now looking for a suitably qualified or near qualified Chartered Accountant to join us!

The key responsibilities of the role include:
• People leadership – you will be responsible for two Finance Administrators
• Core monthly accounting tasks including, journals, reviewing and supervising Accounts Payable general ledger posting, managing and maintaining the monthly finance timetable whilst communicating deadlines to the team, you’ll also complete monthly  balance sheet reconciliations 
• Financial reporting, including the preparation of accurate and timely reports for Management including:
o Monthly management reports for various divisions and subsidiaries  
o Monthly Group consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflows
• Assisting with the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements for Electra and companies within the Electra Group including providing information for auditing purposes, and preparation of notes to the financial statements and supporting schedules as required
• Taxation – income tax, provisional tax estimates and payments, annual income tax return management, FBT, GST and PAYE preparation, return and reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting – Business planning support, preparation of annual budgets/forecasts, whilst supporting the Asset Management Plan and Capex plans as required
• Treasury related requirements including cash management, cash position, and bank reconciliations
• Supporting the Financial Controller with insurance-related requirements

You’ll bring to this role:

• 3+ years of experience gained in a similarly complex environment
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting 
• Working towards or fully qualified as a Chartered Accountant, registered with the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand
• Experience in financial accounting practices and principles; 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of Navision is a huge bonus
• Prior taxation accounting, treasury and statutory reporting skills
• Strong communication skills, ability to influence others to deliver on schedule
• Prior people leadership is desirable but not essential

Highly desirable would be prior experience in a project services type environment with a familiarity in “job costing” concepts, gathered from the Energy distribution, construction or telecommunications industries.
